Week 3
This class has really started to make me think about how information technology is handled in business and personal arenas. After reading the thread on data at rest I was surprised to find similiarities in the way some orgnizations handle thier data in comparison to my office. My office is very protective of their data for good reason of course but I always thought that the extent to which they go to protect data at rest was a bit overboard. However, as I read more about it, I now look at it differently and it actually makes sense to me now. I'm looking forward to week 4.

I am glad you realize why your office was so paranoid about data protection. I was in a facility where there was a data breach -- it was not pretty. We had no Internet for 3-4 months, we had to give up our wireless network and when we got back online, we had to use 12-character passwords along with a set of complex password rules!
